From:  My Day on Sesame Street
Daniel Hemmer Spends a great day on Sesame Street
With love,
Mommy and Daddy
Happy Holidays 2008

It was a busy day on Sesame Street.  Everyone was preparing for the
big art show.  Daniel Hemmer, age 5, from Madison, Wisconsin
was coming to judge the show.  Daniel was bringing David, Mommy,
and Daddy
to help him.  The best artist would get a bright blue ribbon.

“Hurry everyone!” Big Bird called.  “Daniel will be here any minute.”
Finally, Daniel arrived with David, Mommy, and Daddy.  Big Bird was
so happy to see Daniel that he gave him a warm hug and welcomed
everyone to Sesame Street.

After pointing out all the wonderful sights on Sesame Street, Big Bird
explained the judging was about to begin!  “First stop is Oscar’s
trashcan,” he said.  Oscar had made a most unusual sculpture out of
some things he found in the trash.  Daniel was very impressed.  But
Oscar thought that he had a little more work to do, so he searched
through his can for the finishing touch.  As trash came flying out of the
can, Daniel spotted the perfect piece – a flattened flugel horn.  “Wow,
that’s trashy!” said Oscar.  “That should do it! thanks, Daniel.”

Next, they visited Cookie Monster.  He had a made a giant picture of a
cookie.  Daniel could practically taste the scrumptious-looking treat.
“That is the best cookie I have ever seen,” declared Daniel.  “Mmmm,
Daniel right.  Cookie!”  Cookie Monster said as he took a large bite
out of his picture.  Daniel giggled.  “Now it’s perfect,” he said.

Ernie and Bert waved Daniel, David, Mommy and Daddy over to see
their baseball mural…

From:  Ballerina Princess
Marissa Weiss is the Ballerina Princess
We love you,
Aunt Jodi and Uncle David
Happy Birthday 2008

Marissa Weiss, age 6, was walking in a park near Northbrook, Ilinois.
She was watching butterflies playing the flowers and was quite surprised when a king and queen arrived.  “We’re looking for a beautiful young girl to become the new princess of our kingdom,” the king said.  “I’ve always dreamed of being a princess!” said Marissa. The happy king and queen took Marissa back to their castle.

“I wish Mommy, Matt, and Aunt Jodi could see this place!”  Marissa said.  “It’s so big you could have the whole kingdom over for a party.” “What an excellent idea!” said the queen.

Soon the entire castle was busy with preparation for a fancy ball to
welcome their new princess.  The royal dressmakers created a beautiful gown just for Marissa.  When she tried it on, Marissa could hardly believe her eyes.  “In this dress I really do look like a princess,” she said....

From:  Sports Superstar
Josh Moran the Sports Superstar
With Love, From
Uncle Justin
Happy 8th Birthday

Josh Moran, age 8, lived in Chicago, IL.  He liked to play different kinds of sports and dreamed about becoming a professional player. Daddy, Ben, and Uncle Justin thought Josh was a great athlete.

One day Josh saw a television commercial for a new sporting good store.  The next day Josh went to the store. He walked over to a pile of baseball bats.  He tried to hold the bat just like the professional player in the poster.

Josh closed his eyes. Suddenly, he was actually playing in the World
Series!  The baseball stadium was packed like sardines.  The crowd was doing the wave and flying colorful banners in the air.

The bases were loaded.  The team depended on Josh to score the winning run.  He held the bat tight as the mean-looking pitcher through a curve ball.  Josh swung and hit the ball.

The ball flew up, up, up in the air!  It kept on going all the way out of the ball park!  “Holy cow, it’s a grand slam!” the announcer yelled. Josh thought, “Gee whiz, Daddy, Ben and Uncle Justin would be proud of me!”  Josh dropped the bat to run the bases and …

Josh was back in the sporting goods store.  He was a little confused so he walked across the aisle to a display of basketballs.  He began to dribble a basketball.  In an instant, Josh was playing in the finals.

The basketball stands were jammed with people.  Daddy, Ben, and Uncle Justin sat at center court chanting, “Sink it! Sink it!”  Josh looked at the scoreboard.  His team was one point behind.  There were only seconds left in the game…
